JUNE 9, 2010 JSC Kherson Shipyard has handed over the fourth vessel to the Customer in series of Supply-Anchor Handling Vessels
On June 8 a.c., JSC Kherson Shipyard at a formal ceremony delivered to the customer –the Norwegian Kleven Maritime company the fourth vessel of project VS 491 CD - Supply-Anchor Handling Vessel.
The first vessel of the series had been delivered to the Buyers in March 2009.
VS 491 CD Project was elaborated by a Norwegian VIK-SANDVIK. Company.
The newly built vessel SIEM AMETHYST is designed to perform operations with anchors, towage and rig supplies.
Its length is -91,0m, width – 22,0m, depth – 9,6m.
Anatoly Gritsenko, the Head of Kherson Regional State Administration , Vladimir Demekhin, the Chairman of Kherson Regioanl Council, Gustav Johan Nydal, Kleven Maritime representative took part in the naming ceremony.
Speaking at the meeting, Anatoly Gritsenko said : “We expect that today our state, within the frameworks of the agreements signed by the Presidents of two countries, – Ukraine and Russia – shall give a new push, a new impetus for the development of shipbuilding.” Having pointed out a huge work, the yard’s management is undertaking to get new contracts, to create new working places, Anatoly Gritsenko said that “in this situation the government must , certainly, stretch out a hand for us to increase the scope of production, and, which is of utmost importance, - to give people a chance to earn money and to get wages they deserve”. Gustav Johan Nydal, the representative of the Customer –Kleven Maritime - has underlined a high quality of the built vessel and said that it might be likely to place new contracts with JSC Khserson Shipyard in the near future.
The First Deputy Assets Development & Management Director General of Smart Holding, Mr. Alexey Timofeyev in his speech has underlined : “Unfortunately, to-day the crisis in various branches has not bypassed the shipbuilding as well. But on behalf of Smart Holding, I would like to guarantee that the Company will do everything necessary and possible under these circumstances in terms of support and financing”.
At Kherson Shipyard VEKA 125 and CT 707 Projects River Tankers are under construction. 13 ship-repair Contracts are in work.
The scope of the realized production for 4 months of 2010 has made UAH 134.4mil.
JANUARY 15, 2010 KSY has handed over to the Customer the third vessel of a series of Anchor Handling Supply Vessels
On January 15, 2010, a ceremony on handing over the third vessel of a series of four Anchor Handling Supply Vessels, built at the company, to the Customer – Norwegian Kleven Prosjekt III A.S. - took place at Kherson Shipyard. The first vessel of this series was handed over to the Customer in March 2009.
The vessel has been built as per Project VS 491 CD, elaborated by VIK-SANDVIK Design Company(Norway) and is designed to carry out operations with anchors, towage and supply of Drilling Platforms.
The name of the ship is m/v Siem Opal. Her length is 91.0m, width is 22.0m, depth is 9.6m.
The fourth vessel of this series is under construction now on the shipyard’s slipway. She has been finished already by 79%.
Mr. Stale Rasmussen, President of Kleven Maritime, and Mr. Gustav Johan Nydal, Director International Hull Building, took part in the ceremony on handing over the vessel. The volume of production and services in 2009 made up UAH 416,6 mln. which is 19,6% higher as compared to 2008.
OCTOBER 24, 2009 In October a.c. Kherson Shipyard became 58 years old.
On October 24 an Open-Door Day took place at the Company, dedicated to this date. The veterans, the Shipyard’s employees with their children, the vocational schools’ students have come to the Shipyard.
The best subdivisions, teams, the best workers and engineers, which became the winners of the Shipyard’s Competition, have been awarded with Letters of Commendations and bonuses.
The Letters of Commendations and valuable presents have been handed in to two Shipyard’s cadre employees,- Mr. N.A. Brizgun and N.T. Onoprienko. They have been working 55 years at the Shipyard and continue to work to-day.
Three young workers, who have joined the Company this year but have already noted themselves well in the production, have been awarded with the Letters of Commendations and mobile phones. All those who wished, could see a new Transporting Platform KAMAG, witness the shifting of a big Unit on to the building berth, go sightseeing the workshops of the company.
Kherson Shipyard’s Order Book has been formed till the beginning of 2010. The scope of output and services for 9 months of 2009 has increased by 30.1 % in comparison with the last year similar period and made UAH 326.6 mln.
SEPTEMBER 15, 2009 On September 15, 2009 a ceremony was held at Kherson Shipyard dedicated to handing over the second Hull of four Anchor Handling Supply Vessel series, built at the Company to the Customer – Norwegian Kleven Prosjekt IV A.S. Company. The first vessel of the series was handed over to the Customer in March a.c.
The vessel is designed to carry out operations with anchors, towage and supply of drilling platforms.
The name of the vessel is Siem Topaz; the length is 91.0m, the width is 22.0m, the depth is 9.6m.
The vessel has been built as per Project VS 491 CD, elaborated by VIK-SANDVIK Company (Norway). This is the forth Anchor Handling Supply Vessel built at the Shipyard according to three different projects for the last three years.
Two more similar vessels of the series are under construction on the Shipyard’s building berths. The third one to be delivered to the Customer till the end of the current year. The completeness of the forth one is 59%.
At the vessel delivery ceremony the Director General of Kherson Shipyard has declared:
“The Shipyard continues to work successfully despite hard conditions of the economical crisis and will be able to keep up the worthy level of the salary , to enter into new contracts, to proceed with the Shipyard’s modernization program and to look forward with confidence into the future”
SEPTEMBER 10, 2009 On September 10, 2009 Kherson Shipyard held a ceremony on handing over a Multi-Purpose Dry Cargo Vessel ST.NICOLAS (Project RSD 20 was elaborated by Odessa Marine Engineering Design Office) to the Customer Moskam Shipping Ltd .Company
The length of the vessel is 139.082 m, the width is 16.475m, the depth is 6.215m, the deadweight is 6700t . The ship is designed for carrying general and bulk cargoes, metal, grain, timber, big-size and heavy-weight cargoes, containers.
This is the first vessel built by Moskam Shipping Ltd. Company (it is included into Dawson Group).In the future the Company plans to build one dry cargo vessel more of such type.
Addressing the meeting, dedicated to the handing over the vessel to the Customer, the member of the Federal Assembly of Russia, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Natural Resources and Protection of the Environment, Nikolay V. Kosarev thanked the Shipyard’s workers for the work and good workmanship of the Vessel.
The production and service output for 8 months of 2009 made UAH 255.7 mln., which is 17,5 % more than that of the last year similar period.
